Two gunfights underway in Kashmir, Two cops injured

Srinagar, Feb 19 Two gunfight are under way between militants and security forces in Shopian and Zaingam Beerwah area of Budgam district, official's said. An official told News agency Kashmir Dot Com-

(KDC) that a joint team of police, army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in Badigam village in Shopian. He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter, which is under way.

In Zaingam Beerwah of Central Kashmir's Budgam district, Special Operation group of JKP, 53 RR, 134 BN of CRPF launched massive search operation in the area, which also turned into encounter. Sources told KDC that two cop of JKP were injured so far in Budgam encounter and both have been shifted to hospital for treatment.

A senior police officer also confirmed the two encounters in South and Central Kashmir. As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in Shopian village and two in Budgam. (KDC) *Further details awaited*
